THE ANCHORESS DUETS WITH MANIC STREET PREACHERS AT THE Q AWARDS

I was so honoured to be asked to duet with the Manic Street Preachers on ‘Little Baby Nothing’ at the Q Awards last week (where they received the Q Inspiration award).

As a lifelong Manics fan they've been been a huge inspiration to me and to play with the band again was really a dream come true.

Check out some fan shot footage of the song below: https://youtu.be/dQnYI7BtqdY

Head over to Clash Magazine who are premiering the brand new track “Doesn’t Kill You” today. “The song is about taking the chaos you find yourself in and
channelling it into something more positive. “You have to suffer…” The
piano crash at the end was brought to you by a combination of red wine,
codeine, and being forced to play through the pain of (what I didn’t
know at the time was) a detached ligament in my hand when it had all
gone a bit Bobby Fischer…“ http://www.clashmusic.com/news/track-of-the-day-1812-the-anchoress

Les Inrocks

Great review of Long Year from the amazing Les Inrocks. How’s your French…? ; )

“Behind this barbaric sound sensual and group name trompe-l'oeil hides one Catherine Anne Davies. One imagines indeed Welsh savage, dark thoughts and nervous gestures, suspicious and tense like a young PJ Harvey when she greeted the press with a fork in her hand in the Dorset countryside. But the miracle here is the mixture of bitterness and luxuriance - rubber boots and satin shoes - which made the unprecedented magnitude of these songs as comfortable at CBGB’s as in Broadway theatres. Gothic and flamboyant then.”
